Psychologist
Nadika Ratwatte is a dedicated Psychologist, committed to working together with children, adolescents and adults in a partnership, supporting them personally through life’s challenges that can often become overpowering.
Warm & compassionate in her nature, Nadika takes the time to explore your concerns, whilst developing your individual strengths and values. This enables you to achieve your goals in a meaningful way. She is particularly understanding, knows when to listen, and encourages reflection with all her clients.
Growing up, Nadika was someone that others turned to when at their most vulnerable. Helping people through these moments in life was important, as she recognised helping others came naturally. When those around her struggled with their mental health, and they felt the stigma or shame of talking to someone, Nadika would step in for support. She believes everyone should feel comfortable to reach out and speak up. Working with others in need, within a community that offers connection was what drew Nadika to Psychology.
Nadika encourages openness in her sessions, and brings with her a non-judgemental, curious, yet genuine therapy approach. Your therapy journey with Nadika is always centred around YOU – she values her clients’ voice and direction, and believes therapy is a collaborative effort. She will work alongside you, so you feel seen, heard, understood, and ultimately less alone.
As an experienced Psychologist at Creating Change, Nadika combines a Master of Clinical Psychology, Graduate Diploma in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Commerce degrees. Her training includes CBT, and she is ACT, DBT and Schema Therapy informed, using evidence-based treatment modalities to tailor support to each client’s needs.
Human connection is a keen interest of Nadika’s, and over time she has become increasingly fascinated with the mind. Specifically, the depth of factors which can influence what and why we think, feel, and do, and the science behind it. She’s passionate about human behaviour and will inspire motivation and empowerment through your mental health journey.
Her level of expertise is evident in the broad range of presentations she treats: stress management, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, depression, behavioural and emotion regulation difficulties for all ages, parenting support, family and relationship issues, selective mutism and OCD.
On a personal level, Nadika enjoys bush walks, all things food, and loves a hot cup of tea.
Nadika is a devoted therapist at our practice, and is available for appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays.
