Peta Williams is a Psychologist specialising in children and adolescents. She creates a fun and safe environment for them to explore and develop their emotional needs and social skills. She works with young people to build their resilience and develop their sense of self. Peta works with parents to provide the most support and sustainable environment for your child to grow and form relationships.
Peta will always bring understanding and compassion to working with children and adolescents to provide a safe and welcoming environment for what can be serious and complex issues.
The children, adolescents and parents that Peta works with typically see positive results. She has assisted in managing severe and challenging behaviours, supporting children back into the school environment, supporting parents through diagnoses and intervention, creating secure and appropriate friendships for adolescents, and increasing skills around emotional regulation and self esteem.
Her experience and qualifications are exceptional. A Child Psychologist at Creating Change, Peta Williams combines a Masters in Psychology (Clinical), a Graduate Diploma in Professional Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychology degree with extensive training in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness, to achieve optimal results for her clients.
Working previously within the non-for-profit disability sector and at a school for disability, Peta has sculpted her approach to suit the needs of her clients.
Peta provides effective treatment for a broad range of presentations, including emotional dysregulation, social anxiety, specific phobias, childhood depression, under developed social and life skills, self-harm, suicide, behavioural difficulties, ADHD, learning disorders, performance and exam anxiety including HSC stress, as well as challenges experienced in relationships and families.
