Senior Clinical Psychologist
Accomplished Senior Clinical Psychologist, Greg Pankhurst, has been an integral member of Creating Change Psychology and Counselling for several years. Highly skilled at assisting men with traumatic stress and personal relationships, Greg’s gentle, humorous approach to treatment is well regarded. He is passionate about using ‘positive psychology’ to encourage the development of his clients’ greatest strengths and ambitions.
Greg works with adults, adolescents and couples to implement effective solutions to short-term problems and durable practices for sustained wellbeing. Foundational to the success of his method is collaborating with you to develop fresh perspectives, and a treasury of new skills and strategies. He draws from his considerable experience to provide you with authentic courses of action that are scientifically based and repeatedly proven. Applying his unique qualities in supporting male clients, Greg fully understands the treatment needs of teenage boys and men — which means you will always be heard, genuinely affirmed and see tangible progress and transformation as a result of his sessions.
As a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Creating Change, Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Arts in Psychology, and a Diploma in Individual, Couple and Family Therapy. Further, Greg has completed training in Clinical Neuropsychology, Clinical Assessment and Diagnostics, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Systemic Couple Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
His extensive portfolio covers more than 12 years in private practice, experience in crisis counselling with the Salvation Army and Mission Australia, plus roles with Fire & Rescue NSW and the OSA Group Corporate Employee Assistance Program. As a skilled presenter in Counselling Psychology, Greg has worked with UnitingCare Institute of Family Practice for over 15 years. He is also affiliated with the NSW Police Force as a Specialist Psychologist.
Greg proficiently addresses and treats an impressive range of issues that include: relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, adult effects of child abuse, emergency services and military trauma, victims of crime issues, sexuality issues, suicide, grief and loss, workplace bullying and adolescent mental health.
Outside of work, he volunteers with the NSW Rural Fire Service as a firefighter, and with ‘Psychs on Bikes’ as a motorbike-touring community mental health volunteer. Greg enjoys outdoor adventures with his family, and is the proud owner of two miniature dachshunds.
